Mass shooting in Kansas leaves three dead and more than a dozen injured.
A gunman opened fire in rural central Kansas, killing three people and injuring 14 others on Thursday.
The attacker has been identified as 38-year-old Cedric Ford of Newton. It’s believed he was armed with a .223-caliber assault-style rifle and a handgun.
Most of the shootings took place at Excel Industries in Hesston, where Ford used to work. It was not immediately known whether Ford had been recently fired.
Authorities say Ford appears to have started shooting at random. Many of the victims were his coworkers.
Ford was shot and killed by the first law police officer on the scene.
